about

Recorded in the dead of winter in grey Pittsburgh using electric guitar and very little more. While winter should be snowy and cold, the cover photo was taken in February during the only significant snowfall of the warmest winter recorded in over 100 years in the continental United States. These five tracks flow with experimentation and are designed for sleep, meditation and calming affect. They are sounds of both lament for the natural world and the suffering caused by climate change and also the healing that is possible through the inner and outer work of healing. Each track is complete improvisation, even in its extreme simplicity and minimalism.

While most flowing, ambient music is based on synthesizer and maybe piano, these tracks are all guitar based, with layers of effected guitar, heavy with the use of ebo, reverb and delay.

All other This Side of Eve recordings are a collaboration of Alyssa and John, these five tracks are John's alone. Keeping it at five tracks represents the partnership with Alyssa and the missing half of TSE.
